We offer hour long treatments that are individualized; each point is selected specifically for the patient in that moment.

Cupping and Guasha
Cupping, or negative pressure, is used to increase blood circulation and decrease pain.
Guasha is a form of massage that includes a smooth edged "Guasha Tool" that slides along the skin. Often used to boost immune system function and decrease pain.
May be included in acupuncture session
Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal formulas can help with problems ranging from the common cold to fertility issues.
We choose herbal formulas specifically for each patient, based on their symptoms and constitution. Teas, pills or tinctures they come in many forms.

Dr. Hona Backstrom DACM, MSTOM, LAc
I'm a doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and a board certified acupuncturist and herbalist. I believe in guiding each patient on their path to well-being and empowering them to take charge of their health.
My holistic approach focuses on treating the whole body, including mental, emotional, and physical health. Raised by a Doctor of Chiropractic and a Doctor of Holistic Therapy I intuitively instill these philosophies into my practice to deepen the mind-body connection.
I completed my Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine and my Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine Chicago.
